It's almost time!

The Dormition Fast begins on August 1, along with another lesson block in the Learning Through the Year of Grace curriculum. The Mother of Light is a six-week lesson block focused on the Most-Holy Theotokos. From the preparation for the feast of Dormition of the Mother of God through her Nativity, the plans include:

• detailed instructions for creating a main lesson book
• reading lists and daily reading schedules for both little and older ones 
• family reading schedule 
• online lesson calendar 
• Montessori-inspired three-part cards 
• handcraft instructions 
• printable copywork and dictation exercises (manuscript and cursive in both Zaner Bloser and Handwriting Without Tears) 
• printable icons of the Theotokos 

  A friend emailed last week to let me know that there was some conversation on the Orthodox homeschool message boards about the original lesson plans, Treasure Box For the Theotokos. Each year I receive requests for the reading list for this activity. The Mother of Light plans include the completed lists of readings from the Akathist and Scripture.
